Dave was a one of a kind person, so generous, thoughtful and fun loving who had a quick wit and a good comeback line. Dave always watched out for people, which I am certain he is doing even now. He was the most generous guy we know, giving his time, always willing to help, lending his expertise without any expectations. He treated people like they were part of his family and uniquely special. Even as there were times especially recently where we wouldn't see him, he would always out of the blue call and check up. He always wanted to know how we were doing, and he'd always have quite a story from his updates. One year, he painted our living room and kitchen because he didn't think we should be up on high ladders and he had the scaffolding from his job. He spent days with me painting. I'm sure he had a lot to do, but I thoroughly enjoyed our chats and appreciated all his help. Recently, he gave Rhonda lots of guidance with her two recent knee replacements as he had just had his not too long ago. Rhonda actually changed doctors to his before her surgery. She is doing great. We have many memories of the corner bar with Amy and Dave and all our fun Liberty friends. Also, many memories of the lake house visits and fishing off the dock with Dave. He watched me throw a huge crappie back at dusk, when I thought it was a white bass. When we looked at the photo on my phone later we realized it was indeed the biggest crappie we had ever seen...he teased me bout that for years... At one of the lake house visits with Amy and Dave, Dave was taking a nap on the couch and "The Wizard of Oz" was on TV. We made the connection that Dave reminded us of the "Wizard", so from then on he was nicknamed, "The Almighty Oz." Turned out that nickname fit him well. He would drop by or call out of nowhere, help or give advice and save the day, then say "see ya when I see ya" and you know you would always hear back at some point no matter how much time had elapsed. He would say, "The Almighty Oz has spoken." We believe he is speaking to us now and still watching over Amy and all of us. See you in the Emerald City Dave.....Love you Amy!

Amy, I am very sorry to hear of David's passing. My heart is hurting for you and your family today. I always enjoyed my conversations with David, especially when it came to politics, the lake, fishing, and your company. No matter how bad of a day I was having, David somehow would make me laugh and for a moment, forget about the stress and anxiety I was having. He was a great man and will be deeply missed.....

I'm Sitting here today and still not really believing the news. My deepest condolences to Amy, Denaie and all the extended family that have suffered yet again. It is a great privilege for us to know you Dave and we miss you. We have visited many times and always ended up with the Abbiatti's chilling out at home or down at the lake, very special times to us - even when we got food poisoning 😂. We've had fun times at the corner bar with Colin and Di, Halloween and a trip to New Orleans 🍻 🍻 😊 There are simply too many memories over so many years to list and thank you both for your love, laughter and kind generosity - always making us so welcome. So my friend you are always going to be there so I refuse to say goodbye - I'm just gonna take a rain check because if there is a truly better place I will surely see you again. David and Tona xx
