Freeman E. Addison

Freeman E. “Sonny” Addison, 82 passed away August 17, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. He was born January 3, 1937 to Freeman L. and Edna Addison in Conway, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Paul W. Addison, and step daughter Gail L. Peterman.

Sonny grew up in Conway, MO and graduated from Conway High School in 1956. He joined the National Guard and received Honorable Discharge in 1961. He moved to Kansas City, MO in 1965, and went to work for Overland Steel for over 20 years until the company went out of business. Soon after he went to work for William Ragsdale in Independence, MO until retiring. In retirement he worked part-time as a greeter at Wal-Mart for several years.

Sonny meet his wife in 1968, and married her in December of that year. They were married for over 46 years.

Sonny is survived by his wife Sharon, two sisters Donna Shultz and her husband Herman, Barbara Holland and her husband Harold. His son Bruce Addison and wife Kathy, his daughter Kim Zwiener and husband Mike, two step daughters Liz McAllister, and Denise West and husband Ron. Sonny has 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and many more family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Park Lawn Funeral Home 8521 Hillcrest Road in Kansas City, MO. Funeral service will be Wednesday August 21, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Park Lawn Funeral Home, with burial following the service.

Visitation 6-8PM, Tuesday, with services 10AM, Wednesday, August 21, both at Park Lawn, 8251 Hillcrest Rd.; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery.
