Alan Bruce Snyder was known for his dedication to his family and career passed away at his home in Liberty, Missouri on July 1, 2024 at age 71. He was born on January 19, 1953, to Howard and Jane Snyder in Middletown, Pennsylvania. 

Alan lived a life full of adventure. After graduating from Smithsburg High School in 1970 where he excelled as a multi-sport athlete, Alan joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Turkey and served his country with pride and was honorable discharged in April of 1974. Alan's career journey in sales began when he and Cindy tied the knot, and he started selling RV refrigerators. From there, his career skyrocketed, leading him to great success in the industry, becoming an RV salesman for Thetford Corp, covering the entire Midwest region. He retired after 34 years of service.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Alan was a devoted family man. He cherished family vacations and ensured that every year was filled with special memories. Family always came first for Alan, who adored spending time with his loved ones and doting on his grandkids.

In his free time, Alan enjoyed a variety of hobbies including hunting, fishing, golfing, and attending church. He loved to read and was an avid Gunsmoke fan. He had a strong sense of camaraderie and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His friendly nature made it easy for him to connect with people from all walks of life. 

Alan is survived by his loving wife Cindy (Kretsinger) Snyder of the home. He was the proud father of Joshua (Laurie) Snyder of Columbus, Ohio, and Laura (Justin) Sawyer of Kansas City, Missouri. He loved being the grandfather to Ethan Sawyer, Noah Sawyer, William Snyder and Alyssa Snyder. He was a great-grandfather to Layne Sawyer. He also leaves behind his father Howard Snyder from Waynesboro, Pennsylvania; brother Larry (Debbie) Snyder of Canton, Ohio; brother Terry (Debbie) Snyder of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania; brother Steven (Donna) Snyder of Saratoga Springs, New York; and sister in law Elaine Snyder of Grensburg, Maryland. He will be dearly missed by his surviving family members and friends.

A visitation service to celebrate Alan's life will be held on July 5, 2024, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel in Liberty, Missouri. The event will begin at 5:00 PM and conclude at 7:00 PM. It will be a time to honor the wonderful memories shared with Alan and to find joy in each other's company as we bid farewell to a remarkable man whose strength touched us all. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Ringgold Cemetery in Maryland.
