Fayrenne Opal Alden

Fayrenne Opal Alden, 85, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on September 18, 2021.She was born in Zion, Iowa, to Helen and Orville McCrackin on December 24, 1935.

She moved to Hamilton, Missouri, in 1948 and attended Lovely Ridge School, graduating from Penney High School in 1954. Fayrenne went on to study at a Business School in Kansas City.

Fayrenne married Leonard Alden on May 7, 1955, in Kidder, Missouri. They were married for 66 years and together raised three children: Mark Alden, Kelley Stuck, and Brenda Sander. They farmed in Hamilton, Missouri, until 1984, when they moved to Kansas City. Fayrenne worked as a purchaser for the George P. Reintjes Company, Kansas City, prior to retiring in 2000.

Fayrenne is survived by her husband Leonard Alden, two daughters: Kelley Stuck (Jerry Wasleski), Brenda Sander (Duane), also in Kansas City, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Alden, (Susan Goforth) her parents Helen and Orville, and her brothers Marvin, Paul, and Don McCrackin.

Fayrenne was known for her courage, spirit, and wit, full of laughter and love for her family. Following retirement, Fayrenne and Leonard traveled by RV for many years, visiting the national parks, Alaska, and other scenic areas in the United States.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on September 25 at the Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 N. Rte 291, Liberty, Missouri.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation (https://www.apdaparkinson.org/memorial-tribute-1907d3l/) or the Sugar Kitten Café and Cattery (https://gofund.me/c4c1060f).
