Alice Kathryn Kudart

April 19, 1933 — November 20, 2023

Lee's Summit, Missouri

Alice Kathryn Kudart was born in Odessa, Missouri on April 19, 1933 and passed away on November 20, 2023.  She spent her early years living in a rural farming community.   She moved to Kansas City with her mother and brother, and attended Paseo High School, graduating in 1951.  Her husband, Donald Kudart, noticed the pretty young woman in red pedal pushers at the local bowling alley. Alice fell in love with his laugh.  They were married on October 14, 1955. Alice spent her early years dedicated to raising their 5 children and later went to work at Unity Village. She lost her life partner, Donald Kudart, in April of 2003.  Alice is survived by her three daughters, Karen (Jay) Accurso, Joy Kudart, Holly (Greg) Stanger, Rick (Tina) Kudart and daughter-in-law Sally Kudart as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren.

"I waited for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry." After a long, hard fight with dementia over the last years and her final 8 days, momma left her worn out earthly tent behind and came face to face with Jesus!

Alice Kudart was a woman of faith, compassion, integrity, strength.  She was fun and quirky with a ready smile. She spent a lifetime caring for others, first her family, then her circle of friends. She was like a gentle, southerly breeze of fresh air in our lives and the lives of others. The number of JKV care givers that came in the final days of her life to pay their respects was evidence of that.  Some caregivers came in on their day off to check on Alice. She left a very large footprint behind.

She loved the Lord and lived out a life of faith. The teachings of faith, integrity, respect and kindness were on her tongue.  She worked tirelessly to provide for us and loved her children fiercely.

The partial lyrics of a song, written by a daughter explain more of who Alice was:

"There's five of us. You've raised us all
Each one with evident love and care.
You taught us life in word and action.
Whatever our need, you're always there.

"A gently word, a quiet touch,
Often a hard, hard silence.
A touch of gr$$n but always seen
Your evident love and care."

There will be grieving but not as those without hope. There will be celebrating, sharing of memories and laughter along with the sadness that she is no longer with us. When we get to heaven, mom and dad will be the very first people we will look for.

Those of you who loved on and took care of momma from your heart for her years in Memory Care 3, we are so VERY grateful. Those of you who took the time to come personally to pay your last respects to mom in the final days of her life were a great encouragement to us. Both groups, you know who you are!

Momma, we would very much love to see and hear and touch what you are seeing, hearing and touching now! But just like you, we have to wait on God's perfect, sometimes puzzling timing to make that true. See you then!
