Gayle Ellen Ashworth

Gayle Ellen Ashworth, 78, passed away peacefully on October 13th, 2019 from complications from Alzheimer's.

Gayle was born August 20th, 1941 to Orville and Gladys O'Rear in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Raytown High School in 1959. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Kelly, Lori and Jeffrey. Gayle retired from the Raytown School District. She was a member of Blue Ridge Blvd. United Methodist Church. Gayle had previously been an active member of Sweet Adelines and her church choir. In her free time she loved to garden and play BUNCO with her friends.

Along with her parents Gayle was preceded in death by her brother, Cecil O'Rear. Survivors include her sister Sharon Sterrett & spouse Dennis, her brother Clifford O’Rear, her children Kelly McKinney, Lori Ashworth and Jeff Ashworth and spouse Denaie. She leaves 6 Grandchildren. Mark and wife Lauren, Luke & Kyle McKinney, Scott McAvoy, Austin and Jake Chalene and one Great Grandchild, Justus Chalene, as well as many other family and friends.

A Celebration of Gayle's life will be held on October 26th, with a visitation from 9-10am, followed by services at 10am at Park Lawn Funeral Home (8251 Hillcrest Rd KCMO 816-523-1234). A private burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to Heart of America Alzheimer's Association 3846 W 75th St Prairie Village, KS 66208 913-831-3888.
