Peggy S. Babb

Peggy Suzanne Hope Babb, age 80, of Excelsior Springs, MO, went home to be with the Lord June 8, 2021.

Peggy was born in Excelsior Springs June 4, 1941, to Virgil and Maxine Hope. She graduated from Excelsior Springs High School with the class of 1959. Peggy was a lifelong resident of Excelsior Springs.

Her husband Robert “Bob” Babb was the love of her life. Together they raised and adored their three children: Robert “Bob” II, Kara Beth, and Brian. God blessed them with six beautiful grandchildren. Peggy cherished her role as Mom and Grandmother.

Peggy’s infectious smile, cheerful disposition, and fun-loving spirit lit up any room. She loved life and everyone around her. Peggy was a member of Barbee Memorial Presbyterian Church and was very involved in her community including being a long-time active member of Chapter CJ of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Women’s Study Club, and the Preceptor Eta Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. She also loved traveling and seeing new places.

When Peggy entered heaven, she was reunited with her loving husband Bob, her parents Virgil and Maxine Hope, and her sister and brother-in-law Bette Carol and Bob Tompkins.

She is survived by her children Bob (Sherry), Beth (Robin), and Brian (Kristi); six grandchildren whom she treasured—Jordan, Joshua, Jacob, Max, Hayes, and Zoe Babb; and two nephews Craig and Chris Tompkins.

Peggy was a beautiful, compassionate soul who found joy in serving others. She was committed to God, her family, and friends. Peggy was an inspiration. She loved everyone and everyone loved her.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am followed by a service at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 12, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 N. State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Burial will follow at Excelsior Springs Masonic Cemetery, Crown Hill Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org) or the Masonic Cemetery (1401 N. Jesse James Rd., Excelsior Springs, MO, 64024).
