Jessica Elizabeth Bagby

Jessica Elizabeth Bagby (Sumpter) passed away unexpectedly on June 23, 2021, at 39-years young. Jessica was born May 22, 1982, to parents Brenda LaPlant (Chrane) and Raymond “Bags” Bagby in Lee’s Summit Missouri. She spent most of her life in Liberty Missouri, where she attended high school and raised her two children.

Jessica was a free-spirit and an old soul. Her early love of music was inevitable in a family of musicians. She loved live music, art, animals, the outdoors, walking barefoot, and anything vintage or tie-dye. While she had many passions, all of them pale in comparison to the two greatest loves of her life, daughters Emma Sue and Anna Gayle Sumpter.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Anna and Harvey LaPlant; paternal grandparents, Ralph and Ruby Bagby; step-grandparents, Bill and Barb Moffet; father-in-law, Mike Sumpter; and fur-baby, Maggie Moo Sumpter-Bagby.

Jessica is survived by her two daughters, Emma and Anna Sumpter and their father, Travis; her mother Brenda and husband Bill; her father Raymond Bagby; stepfather William Moffet Jr.; mother-in-law Pam Sumpter; sister Jena (Jason) Snyder and nephew Wade; siblings Alex (Carlos) Ayala, Angie Miller, and Eli Bagby; step-grandmother, Joyce White; and numerous beloved family and friends.
