Barbara Givens

Barbara Ruth (Pritchard) Givens passed away August 9, 2024 at Crown Care Rehabilitation Center in Harrisonville, Mo. She was born in Neosho, Mo on November 19, 1925, She was 98 years old at the time of her death. She attended school in Noel, Mo. Her family moved to Kansas City, Mo where she married and started her family. She married Charles (Charley) Givens on March 6, 1943 and they were happily married for 76 years, She took pride in being a homemaker. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, and cooking for her family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Glen and Esther Pritchard, her husband Charley, her daughter Shirley, 2 sisters, 3 brothers, and 2 grandsons. She is survived by her daughters Connie White (Ray), and Jo Rickard (Wayne), grandson Brian (Allie), 5 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. There are 7 nieces and nephews along with many friends who will miss her dearly. 

A memorial service will be held at the First Christian Church in Harrisonville, Mo on Tuesday, August 13 with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon, and the service beginning at 1:00 pm with burial following at Park Lawn Cemetery in Kansas City.
