Robert E. Barker

Robert E. Barker passed away in peace of a brain tumor on Wednesday April 14, 2021 at the age of 83.

Bob was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Robert and Loretta Barker on February 21, 1938. He attended Central High School in Kansas City before proudly serving his country in the United States Navy.

Bob leaves behind his wife of 59 ½ years, Susan. He and Susan raised three sons: Robert, Christopher and Michael. Bob took great pride in his 5 grandchildren: Aaron, Ian, Kyle, Reagan and Colin.

Bob was a member of the of the Raytown Masonic Lodge #391 AF & AM, York Rite, Ararat Shrine and Southwood United Church of Christ in Raytown, Missouri. He will always be remembered as Dad Barker by the hundreds of young men that he greatly influenced while serving the Order of DeMolay (Raytown and Mother Chapters). His honors included DeMolay Cross of Honor, Missouri DeMolay Chapter Dad of the Year, and Honorary Legion of Honor.

Bob retired from Honeywell Federal Manufacturing (better known as Bendix) where he worked for over 25 years.

Visitation will be held at Park Lawn Funeral home on Monday April 19th at 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Masonic Funeral Sevice will begin at 1 p.m. followed by traditional service.  The family would like to suggest, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the PAN Foundation (PAN Foundation) or Shelter KC (Shelter KC), who graciously assisted the family with the care and comfort of Bob.
