Ronald Lee Barrett, 72, of Claycomo, MO, passed away January 12, 2022, at North Kansas City Hospital.

Ron was born March 30, 1949, in Kansas City, MO, the son of John Lee and Ethel Melva (Strickler) Barrett. Along with his parents, Ron was preceded in death by siblings: Edward Hughes, Gerald Hughes, John Barrett, Judith Hughes and Shirley Began.

Ron graduated from Oak Park High School in 1968, and served in the US Navy in the South Pacific until receiving honorable discharge in May, 1970.

Ron was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Crispin on December 19, 1969 and they have three daughters, Sherri, Shauna and Suzanne.

Ron's career with General Motors at Fairfax spanned more than 43 years, retiring as a lead auto worker in the Material Department in 2013.

Ron was a member of Claycomo Baptist Church and served as Chairman of the Zoning Commission for the Village of Claycomo for more than 20 years.

Ron was very active in the Masonic fraternity. He was Past Master of Liberty Masonic Lodge #31 AF & AM, Past High Priest of Liberty Chapter #3, a Voting member of the General Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, Past Master of Liberty Council #50 Royal Cryptic Masons and the Order of the Silver Trowel, Past Commander of Liberty Commandry #6 and member of the Past Commanders' Association. He was a member of the Missouri Priory #17 of the Knights of the York Cross of Honour, and at his passing was Puissant Sovereign of Mary Conclave #5 of the Red Cross of Constantine, Deputy Director General of the Kansas City Preceptory, member of Yeomen of York and President of the Temple Association at Liberty. He was a member of the Kilwinning Council #19 and Past Sovereign Master in 2012. He was a member of Council #79 Knight Masons, Past Excellent Chief 2019. He proudly served as Grand High Priest of the Grand Chapter of Missouri Royal Arch Masons in 2017.

Ron leaves his wife of 52 years, Barbara Jean Barrett; daughters, Sherri Jenkins (Brian), Shauna Stevens (Larry) and Suzanne Barrett (Philip Croft); eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He also leaves a brother, Raymond Hughes (Nina); and sisters-in-law, Virginia Barrett and Jean Hughes; as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1-2 pm and services at 2:00 pm (including Masonic, York Rite and military honors) on Saturday, January 29, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
