Jo Ann Bateman

Jo Ann (Olvera) Bateman, 78, of the Kansas City Northland, went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2022, at NorthCare Hospice House.

Jo was born November 8, 1943 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Joe and Thelma (Barnes) Olvera. Along with her parents, Jo was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, James Allen Bateman, and a sister, Ruby Olvera. Jo was a member of Bread of Life Christian Fellowship.

Survivors include her sons, David Smith (Bonnie) and Doug Smith; daughter, Michele Hooks (Wardell); eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Warren Olvera (Susan); sister, Cheryl Ballard; as well as nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Bread of Life Christian Fellowship, 4619 N.W. Gateway Avenue, Riverside, MO 64150. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the church.
