Phyllis M. Beck

Phyllis M. Beck, 66, passed away September 28, 2022.

Phyllis Marie Beck was born to Don and Mary Borts on March 11, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a graduate of Van Horn High School and she worked for Southwestern Bell/ATT for 35 years. After her retirement, she bought her home in Blue Springs and she took the biggest vacation of her life to Oxnard, CA with her husband Steve. She loved to be outside on her porch and enjoyed her flowers. She also enjoyed playing Bubble Saga and watching cooking shows as well as Big Brother, that was her show! She was our warrior as she fought for 18 and a half years battling Leukemia on her own terms.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Steven Beck, her sister Carmen Johnson, and her parents Don and Mary Borts.

She is survived by her Son Vince Oliver and his wife Gina of Blue Springs Missouri, Daughter, Shaunda Hawkins and her husband Ed of Independence Missouri, Step-son Steven Beck Jr and his wife Ashley, and her Step-daughter Amy Beck of Kansas City Missouri.

She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren (McKenzyi, China, Steven, Dream, Diamonds, Zakry, Nathan, Isabella, Natalia, Eli and Sylvanas}. She is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and dear friends.

Visitation will be 6-8PM, Monday, October 3 at Nativity of Mary Parish, 10017 E. 36th Ter., Independence, Missouri.  Mass of Christian burial will be 9AM, Tuesday, October 4 at Nativity of Mary Parish; burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
