Benton B. "Ben" Holt

Benton Bert Holt, Junior went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2023.  He spent his final days at home surrounded by the family he loved and his loving wife of 57 years, Kathryn Holt.  

Ben was born on August 7, 1947 in Kansas City, MO.  He graduated from Northeast (Kansas City) High School in 1965.  He then attended Central Missouri State University, where he met Kathryn.  They would be married in September of 1966.  

Shortly after being married, Ben joined the United States Marine Corps Reserve.  He would attend bootcamp at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, Ca.  He would serve honorably for the next 6 years.  

Ben would work several retail grocery jobs during his life, and also worked as a route driver for the Manor Bread Company.  

In 1994, he would attend the JB Hunt Driving School in Rantoul, Illinois.  For the next decade and a half, he would serve as both a driver and a trainer for JB Hunt.  During his career, he earned a one-million mile award, a two million mile award and a prestigious three million mile award.  All three million miles being accident free.  He would retire in 2017.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Benton Bert Holt, Sr and Anna-Mae (Dugas) Holt.  He is survived by his wife, Kathryn and their three sons, spouses: Todd Holt and his fiancé Karen Meyers, Mark and Angie Holt, Joey and Chrissy Holt.  He is also survived by 5 grandchildren that loved their "Pa", Samantha, Devyn, Kaylee, Logan and Gavin and his sister, Roberta Holt-Kipper.

Visitation will be 6-8PM, Thursday, October 19 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri.  Funeral services will be 9:30AM, Friday, October 20 at Park Lawn Funeral Home; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery.
