Beverly C. Allen

Beverly Cliette Allen departed this earthly life at home with her family on June 14, 2023. 
 
Beverly was born May 12, 1940 in Waycross, Georgia to Charles and Reatheta Cliette. The family moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she graduated from West Philadelphia High School. 
 
In 1959, she briefly attended Pittsburg State Teachers College to pursue a degree in education. As the story would be told, she met and married her forever love, Charles, on September 10, 1960. They were blessed with a son, Charles IV and a daughter, Terrill. 
 
In 1973, Beverly graduated from Avila College, Kansas City, MO with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Education and later received a Master’s in Special Education at University of Missouri-Kansas City. 
 
Beverly was employed with the Kansas City Public School District for 30 years and retired as an administrator Special Education. For many years, she was a Grant Writer for the National Foundation of Science, a member of Council of Exceptional Children, and other educational organizations. 
 
After retirement, she volunteered with her daughter at the Kansas City Repertory Theatre, active member of Kansas City Public School Retired Administrators, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. 
 
Beverly was passionate in decorating her home for ALL holidays, cheering on the KC Chiefs and tennis, maintaining a garden of flowers, and sewing. 
 
She was a long time parishioner of St. Thomas More Parish. 
 
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Charles, children, Charles IV and Terrill, and nephew, Kinglsy (Pam) Philadelphia and other family and friends.
