Billy Don Chase, 89, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away on September 17, 2023, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on August 13, 1934, to Noah Doniver Chase and Mary Bell Stewart in Goodman, Missouri.
Billy was a man of great strength and commitment. He loved his family dearly and dedicated himself to their care and well-being. Known for his unwavering loyalty and kindness, Billy was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. His devotion to God and his family shaped his life, and he lived by the values of love and service.
Billy leaves behind his wife of 16 years, Peggy Sue Chase, and six children: Terri Beard (Nelson), Tim Chase (Tonya), Stewart Chase (Michele), Susie Eyre (Gregg), Kathy Aamodt (David), and John Chase (Susan). He was blessed with 23 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Billy’s family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He also dearly loved and leaves behind his 3 siblings, Chloe Ann Caywood Settje, James Ronald Chase, and Leta Cope.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Maude Chase, his son, Billy Don Jr., and his daughter Amy. Billy's parents also preceded him in death, Noah Doniver Chase and Mary Bell Stewart.
Billy was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He found solace and strength in his faith and actively served any way he could. Billy’s church service was a reflection of his selflessness and Christlike love. He served twice as a bishop, providing guidance and support to those in need.
In addition to his dedication to his family and church, Billy enjoyed spending time in service to others. He tirelessly worked to make a difference in the lives of those around him. His acts of kindness and compassion touched the hearts of many.
Visitation for Billy will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 850 SE Church Street, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM to honor and celebrate Billy’s life. Burial will follow in Brooking Cemetery, Raytown, Missouri.
