Gerald Vincent "Jerry" Bindel, 79, of Kearney, MO, passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2020 at his home. Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 pm, Rosary at 1:30 pm, and Mass of Christian burial at 2:00 pm, on Monday, August 17, at St. James Catholic Church, Liberty, MO. Burial will follow at Glenridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the church.
Gerald was born December 20, 1940, in Sabetha, KS, the eighth of nine children of Aloysius and Ruth (Kasten) Bindel. He was united in marriage to Barbara Joan Kramer on September 30, 1961. Along with his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Gerald's career with Ford Motor Company at Claycomo spanned 31 years prior to his retirement in 1996. He was a lifelong Catholic and member of St. James parish. He was also a member of the UAW and Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Barbara; children, Randy Bindel (Mary Ann), Lisa Bindel, Michael Bindel (Rebecca), Jeff Bindel and Jennifer Beumer (Paul); grandchildren, Matt (Tiffany), Robin, Kristopher (Josie), Nicolas (Sarah), Kirk, Makayla, Makenna and Bradley and ten great grandchildren. Gerald also leaves siblings, Herbert Bindel, Virgil Bindel and Christine Miller; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Gerald was a dedicated husband, dad and grandpa who had a passion for sharing the outdoors with those he loved. He will be greatly missed by all.
