Tammy Ann Birch, 58, of Independence, MO, passed away January 17, 2022 at St. Luke's East Hospital in Lee's Summit with family at her side.

Tammy was born September 22, 1963, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Richard and Verleen (Whittall) Irey. She was married to Fred Birch.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rodney Irey.

She worked for Park Hill School district until her health no longer permitted. She also worked as a volunteer for Hospice Advantage. She loved swimming, the beach, loved to sew, and create crafts. Most of all, Tammy was a loving mom and Nana to ten grandchildren she adored. If there was a family event, especially if it included her grandchildren, she was all in!

Survivors include her daughters, LaTisha Perkins (Luke), Paula Soper and Kristine Muck (Andrew); grandchildren, Liberty, Liam, Hailey, Brena, Kimber, Aubrey, Tanah, Jared, Lillian and Kaiden; siblings, Susie Thomas, Elsie Conner, Gerald Gregg, Linda Vickers, Roger Irey, Richie Irey and Terri Irey; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

A celebration of Tammy's life will be held at 12 noon Sunday, January 23, at the Claycomo Community Building, 28 South Drake Street, Claycomo, MO 64119. The celebration will include a potluck meal so please feel free to bring a dish to share and your beverage.

The family requests no flowers and memorials to help with expenses may be given payable to Terri Wills, Tammy's sister. Donations may be left at the celebration or sent to the funeral home.
