Blanchard F. Talbert was born November 29, 1925, in Mansfield, Louisiana to Newton and Margaret (Ferguson) Talbert. His parents, wife, 8 siblings, 1 grandson, and 1 great grandson all preceded him in death.
He professed his life to Christ at an early age.
Blanchard received his education in the public school in Mansfield, Louisiana. After school, Blanchard was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was a World War II veteran.
After returning home to Louisiana, Blanchard soon realized that his success in life would be accomplished outside of the segregated world of the south and moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Blanchard married Ann J. on October 7, 1982, and although they did not have children born to this union, Ann had 5 daughters that Blanchard became like a father to. (Two daughters preceded him in death, Antoinette McDowell and Susan McDowell.)
He retired from AGCO in 1987. Blanchard loved to fish and garden and as time went by, although he no longer fished, he spent most days at the lake just enjoying the peace the water gave him. As a matter of fact, he drove himself to McDonald’s and Longview Lake the day before he departed this Earth.
On February 4, 2022, Blanchard was surrounded by his daughters’ grandchildren and great grands before God sent the angels for him.
He leaves to cherish his memory 3 daughters, Mary McDowell-Chalbi of Riverside, CA, Harriett McDowell-Madge (Raymond) of Raytown, MO, and Sherrie McDowell-Robinson (Raymond) of Pleasant Valley, MO; 2 brother in-laws, Robert Whittaker (Rebecca) of Okmulgee, OK, Charles Whittaker of Okmulgee, OK; 19 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
