Bobby Gene Forrest

           Bobby Gene Forrest, 93, formerly of Liberty, MO, passed away August 25, 2023, at Kingswood Senior Living in Kansas City, MO, where he resided since 2018. 

          Bobby was born October 8, 1929, in Greenway, Arkansas, the son of Auda and Meda (Sherfield) Forrest.  He served in the US Air Force for five years, receiving honorable discharge as Airman Second Class on September 10, 1953, and also served in the Army Reserves.  Bobby was united in marriage to Doris Allene “Billie” Hanson on March 7, 1953, and she preceded him in death on August 10, 2019.

           Bobby served as a Firefighter on the Kansas City Fire Department for 15 years, and retired as Sales Manager for Laidlaw’s Harley Davidson in Rosemead, CA.  Bobby was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bobby’s passions included motorcycle and sprint car racing and he was a master ping pong player.

          Survivors include daughters, Carol Forrest, JoAnne Weeks (Melanie Woods) and Janis Forrest; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

          Private graveside dedication was held Saturday, September 2, at Green Lawn Cemetery in Kansas City, MO. A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements: Park Lawn Northland Chapel (816) 781-8228 www.parklawnfunerals.com.
