Emil Richard Bohrer “Jr”, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 6, 2022 in Kansas City, Missouri. He is survived by his wife Joyce Annette Bohrer; son Rusell Emil Bohrer; nephews: Toby Cox, Chris Cox and Darren Cox; along with two granddaughters and 4 great grandchildren. Jr was born on June 20, 1939, the oldest of 16 and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. He spent several years in Delasla Military School before graduating high school at Cass Midway.

Jr joined the Navy in July of 1958 to May of 1962 where he received an honorable discharge.

Jr and Joyce were married on July 5, 1963. They had one son, Russell Emil Bohrer on June 13, 1964.

In 1975, Jr bought a trash truck and started his own trash service, R.E.B. He serviced the Overland Park, Shawnee and Lenexa Kansas area for over 31 years. He retired in 2006. Jr would often be seen going into his customers’ garages or house to pull trash for those who couldn’t take it to the curb.

In 1978, Jr and Joyce bought 5 acres and moved to the country in Peculiar, Missouri, where they remained until this last year.

In December 1992, Jr and Joyce welcomed three nephews into their home. Toby Cox, Chris Cox and Darren Cox, where they raised the three.

Jr loved the outdoors, hunting, and mowing the lawn. He enjoyed watching western movies and anything John Wayne.

Visitation will begin at 12PM, with servcies to follow at 1PM, Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery.
