Richard W. Boles

Richard W. Boles, age 89, passed away peacefully at home February 27, 2020. Richard was born in Koshkonong, Missouri on April 6, 1930. He was one of seven children born to Elisha and Lula Boles. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force, where he reached the rank of Airman First Class. Richard flew with the 307th bomb squadron on board a B-29 Flying Fortress. He was a right gunner and flew 16 missions over North Korea. Richard received the Air Force Air Medal for his service.

After returning home, Richard met and married Shirley Holman on June 28, 1955. He was employed at Sealright Packaging Company from 1956 until his retirement in 1992. Richard loved to travel by car and visited almost every state in the U.S. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Shirley. He is survived by his daughters Patricia Snow and Rhonda (Stephen) Levine. He leaves behind his grandchildren Tami Richardson, Matthew (Anne) Levine and Michael (Laura) Levine, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 3-5PM, Tuesday, March 3 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, MO.
