Boniello, Stephen Paul

February 16, 1961 — April 27, 2020

“Steve” P. Boniello, 59, of N. Kansas City MO, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020. He was born in Kansas City on February 16, 1961 to Frederick and Josephine (Blando), but spent the majority of his childhood and younger life in Peekskill NY. He eventually moved back and settled his family to the Kansas City area. He enjoyed a long career with the City of Kansas City with his most recent position being a Program Specialist in the Neighborhood and Housing Services Department.

Steve is survived by his wife of 4 years Kim Chi; his loving children, Stephen and wife Laura, Daniel, Frank and wife Darcie; brothers Michael, Fred and wife Mary Ann, John and wife Joann, and sister Lisa Moynihan and husband Neil; aunts, Carm Guerra, Jane Blando, Mary Boniello and Katherine LeMatty. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with his parents, Steve was predeceased by his first wife Teresa Dziadzio Boniello.

Steve really enjoyed being outside and doing projects in the yard--there was nothing he couldn’t accomplish. He also loved cooking, playing Rock Band with his sons (he was in several bands in his younger years), shooting pool, and most of all spending time with his family. He had a great dry sense of humor and was the kind of guy that one could rely on to help in any situation. He really held old time values and was one of the most decent people you’d ever meet. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

Sending my condolences and love to the family on the loss of Steve. I cannot express in words what he meant to me, Godson, cousin, friend, “little Brother”, and genuinely caring soul. He had a life of ups and downs, but through it all, he was always there to offer a helping hand. May you rest at peace.

We are deeply sadden by this sudden passing of Stephen. Our first meeting was here in Savannah with his son Frank marriage to our Granddaughter Darcie it was a very special day in the Boniello family & ours it was a true pleasure meeting Stephen. Also seeing how much it meant to Frank & Darcie for him to be there.

I want to extend my deepest condolences to the family of Steve Boniello . Steve was not only my co-worker but a true friend. When he was out on leave, I would touch base with him at least once a week to see how he was feeling and to get a taste of that dry sense of humor. As he was dealing with his illness, he really never complained, "he'd say, it is what it is". As a side joke, I'd ask him if he has stock in Costco, that was he and Kim Chi favorite place to shop. May God's Blessing Be Upon You. Miss you Steve.

I love humor and Steve's wit was always a pleasure to witness. His calm and purposeful approach to anything put in front of him was admirable, and his willingness to help out others seemed boundless. I miss him and wish him Godspeed.
