Johanna V. Bridge, 60, passed August 14, 2020.  Johanna was born in a hogan in Lukachukai, AZ on February 14, 1960. She was raised in a blended traditional and Catholic home. She graduated from Chinle High School in 1979 and later attended Northern Arizona University. She moved her family to the Kansas City area to find a better life where she later met Dale. She snagged him up for good in 1996. Johanna had many friends through the American Indian community and local auctions. She helped make dance regalia for many American Indian youth around the Kansas City area. Johanna died with 11years of sobriety and helped others on their path to sobriety as well. She fostered and adopted 3 grandchildren and continued to volunteer afterward with KVC foster care system as a result.

Johanna continued to impart the importance of the Dine' culture and traditions on her children and grandchildren. She encouraged them to learn their history, learn the language, and live their culture.

She is survived by her husband Dale, son Daniel, daughters Renalda and Renelle, 11 grandchildren, her mother Mary Francis Bedonie, sisters Vangie Bedonie and Shannon Keto, brothers Joseph, Byron, and Lexie Bedonie.

Anyone wanting to send donations to the family can send them to the GofundMe page established that will be up for another two weeks. Johanna would also encourage a donation to a local youth organization. She always loved kids no matter whose they were.

Graveside services will be 1:30PM, Friday, August 28 at Memorial Park, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, MO.
