Bruce P. Perkins

Bruce Patman Perkins passed away March 16, 2023.  He was born April 6, 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri.  Bruce was preceded in death by his wife Kay of 62 years, his son David (Brenda), his mother and father, five brothers and one sister.  He is survived by his daughter Sheryl.  Bruce loved and was very proud of his grandchildren Kyle (Julie), Miranda and Joe; his great grandchildren Katie, Carly, Dakota, Riley and Joseph.  He always had a place in his heart for his many nieces and nephews.  Bruce worked in construction all of his life and retired from Teamsters Local 541.  For many years he spent weekends hunting and fishing.  Bruce and Kay enjoyed riding his motorcycle together in the 70’s and then he took it up again in later years spending weekends riding with his friends.  They also enjoyed belonging to a CB club back in the 70’s.  Bruce’s handle was #1 Easy Rider and Kay’s was Peddle Pusher.  Bruce and Kay moved to their weekend place at Truman Lake when they retired and lived there for several years before moving back to Independence, MO to watch their grandkids grow up.  We will miss him always wanting to help out and be a part of everything the family was involved in.

Visitation will be 12PM, with services to follow at 1PM, Wednesday, March 22 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri; burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
