Jack Bennie Buhrman was born October 21, 1941, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Grover and Pearl Buhrman. His father passed away when he was in the ninth grade, so Jack dropped out of school and went to work to help support his mother and siblings. That was the kind of person he was. Not afraid of hard work and always ready to help.
Jack met, and married, Sarah Brim in Kansas City, Missouri in 1960 and welcomed their first of three children in 1962. He was employed by Gooch Brake for over forty years retiring in 2002. He loved to fish, hunt, square dance, and cheer on his Kansas City Chiefs. He was known for his ability to fix about anything. Even his great grandchildren knew to, "call Papa Jack", when something was broke.
Sarah passed away in 1992 leaving a huge hole in his life. Fortunately, God found a new partner for Jack, Sue Skinner. They were married in May of 2000. They relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2010. Jack was full of energy, always working to improve his home and the lives of others. He had a passion for taking care of the wildlife and gardening. The birds and deer never wanted for food if they were on his property.
Jack left us on May 23, 2021. He is survived by Sue, his little dog, Sophie, three brothers Henry, Clifford, and Herschel. His three children, Tracy, Jeff, and Bryan. He was blessed to have twelve grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
Jack was a simple man. He didn't want a fancy funeral. He would tell us to celebrate the years we had, and not dwell on the years we didn't. Sage wisdom from our Papa Jack.
