Gary Ray Burnside, Sr.

Mr. Gary Ray Burnside, Sr. was born on March 10, 1950 in Plattesburg, MO to Roland Burnside and Opal Saunders. He graduated from Westport High School in 1969. He went on to work at Metropolitan Community College for 27 years.

He married Ann Louise Gordon on November 20, 1970. They were married for 46 years. He was the proud father of two sons, Gary R. Burnside, Jr. and Gerald L. Burnside.

He was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall on 31st St.

Mr. Gary Ray Burnside, Sr. was called home on Sunday, September 13, 2020. His homegoing was preceded by his mother Opal Burnside and father Roland Burnside, four brothers, Frank, Walter, Larry and William Burnside and one sister Kathryn May.

He leaves behind two sons: Gary Jr. (Charity), and Gerald (Shawnta) Burnside, three grandchildren: Maxine, Charity and Skyler, two brothers John and Tom Burnside and two sisters Doshia Carrol and Wanda McConnell all of Kansas City, Missouri, along with a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be 5-7PM, Monday, September 21 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri 64138. The family of Gary Ray Burnside, Sr. wish to thank friends and relatives for their expressions of sympathy. May God continue to bless each and every one of you.
