Douglas Lee Butler, 52, passed away February 27, 2021 at his home in Kansas City, Missouri. Doug was born May 28, 1968 in Wichita, Kansas. He served in the United States Army during the Gulf War. Doug loved his country, cars, dirt bikes, mixed martial arts and guns. He was an amazing artist that loved his dog and his rats. Doug was very strong willed, enjoyed talking on the phone and loved to debate. He preferred wearing his crocs, loved a “good deal”, rock stacking and cooking.

Doug is survived by his mother Vinita Stathopoulos and her husband John, sister Sharla Silva and her husband Phil, brother Johnny Stathopoulos and his wife Angie, sister Staci Elliot and her husband Bill, aunt Sue Varner, aunt Vickie Robinson and her husband Bill, uncle Vincent Serrioz and his wife Cindy, aunt Sharon Hunter, many nieces, nephews and his close friends Patrick Beaven, Duane Towler, Michael Sell and Christopher Dixon.

Funeral services will be 10AM, Wednesday, March 10 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 12001 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO.  A Trisagion service will precede the funeral services at 9:45AM.  Burial with military honors will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
