Tessa M. Calegari

Tessa M. Calegari, 88, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2020. Tessa was born March 25, 1931 in Utopia, KS to Oscar and Thelma (Adams) Scharff. She graduated from Nevada High School in Nevada, MO in 1949. After graduation, she moved to Kansas City, MO where she met and married Jack R. Calegari on June 26, 1955. Tessa volunteered at Lost Dog Registry and eventually ran the operation after the original owners retired. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Tessa was an avid bowler and in the PTA when her son Jack was in school.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack Calegari, brother Joseph Scharff, brother Larry Scharff, brother Ervin “Bud” Scharff, sister Suzanne Scharff Simpson and brother in law Craig Calegari. Survivors include her son Jack Calegari, sister Eva Scharff Miller, sister Connie Scharff Boland, sister in law Judy Couvillon and her beloved dogs Bonnie and Julie of the home.

Visitation will be 12PM, service to follow at 1PM, Thursday, March 5 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd.; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chain of Hope KC at chainofhopekc.org.
