March 1, 1947 — September 18, 2021

Eileene C. Canseco, 74, passed away September 18, 2021. Eileene was born March 1, 1947 in Abilene, Kansas to Melvin and Marie Scheaffer. She was raised in Chapman, Kansas being the youngest of seven children. Eileene graduated from Chapman High School 1965. She moved to Kansas City to attend Avila College for Nursing. She met her husband Joseph and raised three children. Together they opened their home to many children and adults who came upon hard times. Both Eileene and her husband were very active in the church where she sang in the choir, led Ala-non meetings and helped families in need through the food pantry. Eileene worked 39 years with the Social Security Administration where she was able to make some wonderful lifelong friends who loved her witty personality. After she retired, she moved to Minnesota to watch her grandson grow up. While there, she found joy in attending a variety of active social clubs as well as being able to help elementary students with reading. Recently, Eileene returned to Kansas City, Missouri and was able to build a bond with her great grandchildren and watch them grow.
