Betty Lou Carey

Betty Lou Carey, 90, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 6:55 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, MO 64138. Visitation is from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri.

Betty was born on July 18, 1931 at home in Kansas City, Missouri to William and Louise Hampshire. She attended Raytown schools and completed the 10^th grade.

She married Donald Carey on October 23^rd, 1949. She had two children: Mike Carey and Debbie Bohrer. They were longtime members of Spring Valley Baptist Church. She worked at Baptist Hospital and Research Hospital as a cardiovascular technician until her retirement in 1986.

She has one son-in-law: Mike Bohrer; nine grandchildren: Michelle Cox, Lisa Cox, Jonathan Curry, Vanessa Jagow, Jeremy Jagow, Michael E. Carey, Jessica Martenson, Cassandra Lewis, and Shawn Lewis; and six great grandchildren: Paige Quinter, Blaine Maguffee, Kurtis Boyd, Matthew Duffy, Skylar Lewis, and Russell Carey.

She will be missed by all her family and friends. We will especially miss her smile and laughter.

Visitation will be 12PM, with services to follow at 1PM, Friday, April 1 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery.
