Edward Franklin “Frank” Carey

August 27, 1933 — July 9, 2019

Edward Franklin "Frank" Carey, 85, a longtime Liberty resident, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2019, at his home, surrounded by family. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by funeral services at 11:00 am, on Saturday, July 13, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty. Burial will follow at Glenridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Ararat Shrine Hospital Transportation Fund, 5100 Ararat Drive, Kansas City, MO 64129.

Frank was born August 27, 1933, in Manila, Arkansas. He served in the U.S. Army, receiving honorable discharge on August 14, 1957. He worked as a bricklayer with his brother Vernon for many years, operating Carey Brothers Masonry. He was a member of Clay Masonic Lodge in Excelsior Springs and Ararat Shrine Temple. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Carey; mother, Annie (Davis) Carey; sister, Jean; and grandson, Dustin. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Wanda (Huntsman) Carey; children, Donna Kilbreath (Chester), Danny Carey (Linda), Terry Carey (Angie) and Patricia Johnson; siblings, Trilla Wheeler, Sue Green, Patricia "Pungie" Dennis and Vernon Carey (Sue); seven grandchildren, Michael, Dawn, Brian, Angela, Kevin, Allyson and Lane; seven great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Service Information:

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by funeral services at 11:00 am, on Saturday, July 13, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty. Burial will follow at Glenridge Cemetery.
