Dorothy Lee (Teence) Carmack, 95, passed away peacefully at her home in Kansas City with her family by her side October 1, 2021. Dorothy was born in 1926 to Raymond and Elsa Searcy. Dorothy graduated from Raytown High School and lived in the same area all of her life. Dorothy and her sister Gus owned Drapery Nook, later sold it to Yard Stick and continued to work for them for some time. She then worked for Adams Mark for 27 years before retiring. She made several quilts over the years that she generously shared with her family.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Leo Carmack and one son Gary Thomas Carmack. She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Ronald Lee and Barbara Carmack and Tod and Ann Carmack; grandchildren and their spouses, Ronald and Glenda Carmack, Karen and Mark Black, Rodney and Shannon Carmack, Valorie and Matt Box, Carolyn and Clint Reyburn, Stacey and Nick Woroniak, Derek and Alexis Graham; 17 great grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; Brother in-law William Carmack, Sister in-law Barbara Carmack and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Family will receive friends beginning at 9 AM, followed by a memorial service at 10 AM, Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, MO.
The family suggest in lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be directed to Good Shepherd Hospice.
