As a youth, Gary earned his Eagle Scout, and he was an avid animal lover and always had a heart for strays. He worked construction most of his life and enjoyed fishing and being at his lake trailer for his retirement. Surviving family includes sisters, Pat Meijer and Debra Oman; nieces, Stephanie Linder, Kerry Arnold (Dwaine), and Lauren Ketchum (Ryan Wampler); three great nieces and one great-great niece.
