CHARLES W. WISEMAN
Charles “Charlie” Wayne Wiseman, 77, of Independence, MO, passed peacefully on April 25, 2024, at NorthCare Hospice House surrounded by family.
Charlie was born January 22, 1947, in Windsor, MO, the eldest of five sons of Charles Belford Wiseman and Maxine E. (Coffey) Wiseman. He graduated from Warsaw High School in Warsaw, MO. Charlie was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Adams Roper on November 2, 1977. Charlie worked as a welder for many years and was a forklift operator 25 years, retiring from Spacecenter Distribution in Independence in 2013. Charlie could fix anything! He loved hunting deer, shooting prairie dogs, fishing, and was a former member of the Liars’ Table. He was also a former drag racer at Thunder Valley.
Along with his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy, Bobby, and Mike Wiseman. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Barbara; daughters, Tammy Findley (James), Deanna Roper, and Rachel Lancaster (Shawn); grandchildren, Kenneth Findley (Sarah), Deana Neill (David), Adam Findley, Kelly Findley, Zachary Roper (Courtney), Samantha Perdue, Breanna Peltz (Alex); 20 great grandchildren; a brother, John Wiseman (Sandy); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends, including his dogs, Gandolf, Luna, and Buster Brown, and granddogs, Molly, Apache, and Star.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Wednesday, May 1, and a service celebrating Charlie’s life will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, May 2, all at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery in Independence, MO.
