Betty Bernadette Chouteau, 75, of Blue Springs, was born April 14, 1947, in Wichita, Kansas. She was the daughter of Melvin and Frances (Hansen) Frye. She suddenly departed this life and entered fully into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.
Betty was a 1965 Lillis High School graduate in Kansas City.
On May 14,1966 she married James Phillip Chouteau in Kansas City and enjoyed 56 years together. They were blessed with a large and loving family. Her most treasured job was being a homemaker and mother of 7 children. She loved hosting and planning family birthdays, celebrations and holidays. You could always count on her to be at all her childrens’ and grandchildrens’ school and sporting events. Betty’s faith and way of life was an inspiration to all who knew her. She loved the Lord with all her heart. She hosted and attended numerous Bible studies. She loved attending church and worshiping the Lord with her hands lifted high.
Betty is survived by her husband, James; her 6 daughters Michelle Hampson (Matt), Theresa Babin (Chad), Kimberly Chouteau, Jamy Livingston (Sean), Rebecca Henderson (Dean) and Tiffany Boudreaux (Daniel); 1 son Jimmy Chouteau (Cynthia); her 19 grandchildren Jacob Hampson, Jessica Key, Autumn Hampson, Bo Armstrong, Erika Sawyer, Derek Livingston, Noah Livingston, Abigail Livingston, Emma Livingston, Ellianna Chouteau, Ethan Chouteau, Emery Chouteau, Evelyn Chouteau, Hailey Ewing, Samantha Chouteau, Hannah Chouteau, Tyler Boudreaux, Alexis Boudreaux and Jordan Boudreaux; 10 great grandchildren and counting; her 2 sisters Barbara McCafferty and Mary Marketic and 4 brothers Ron Frye, Ralph Frye, Dave Frye and Joe Frye; and a host of friends. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; one sister and two brothers, Beverly Gordon, Robert Frye, and Richard Frye.
A visitation for Betty will take place on Thursday, December 8th, 2022, at Abundant Life Church, 414 SW Persels Rd, Lees Summit, MO 64081 where friends and family may visit from 5:00-7:00 pm with a service following at 7:00 pm. She will be laid to rest with family present on Friday, December 9th at the Higginsville Veterans Cemetery, 20109 Business Hwy 13, Higginsville, MO 64037.
