Sharon Sue Clagett

Sharon Sue (Stevens) Clagett passed away on December 13, 2020, at the age of 70. She was born December 8, 1950, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Verlin Raymond Stevens and Myra Sue (Comstock) Stevens. Sharon grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated from Westport High School in 1968. Upon graduation, she married Richard Leon Findlay, Sr. on February 15, 1969. They were later divorced. She married Kenneth L. Clagett on May 15, 2000, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She is preceded in death by her parents, but she is survived by five brothers and two sisters: Terry Lee Stevens, Danny Raymond Stevens, Vickie Sue (Stevens) Carnesecca, Steven Stevens, Gary Stevens and Kimberly (Dreiseszun) Taylor. She is survived by her two sons: Richard L. (Manuela) Findlay of Menifee, California, and Scott Allen (Anita) Findlay of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Grandchildren: Leon Findlay, Alicia Findlay, Scotty Findlay and Tyler Findlay. She is also survived by her husband, Ken Clagett of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews.

For years, during the late 1980’s, she owned and operated a women’s clothing store in Westport—Off Broadway. She was an expert at women’s wardrobes and fashion.

Sharon loved cooking, music, children and poodle dogs. She would light-up any room she entered. She loved to laugh, and her friends and family loved to laugh with her. She will be missed by all her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be at 10 a.m. at the Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd Kansas City, MO 64138 on Thursday, December 17, 2020, under the direction of Park Lawn Funeral Home.
