C. Kirby Jr. Clarence

December 19, 1956 — February 23, 2022

Clarence Clemons Kirby, Jr., 65, of Kearney, MO, passed away unexpectedly on February 23, 2022, at Linden Woods Village in Gladstone.

Clarence was born December 19, 1956, in Kansas City, MO. He grew up in Odessa, MO and graduated from high school in Holden.  He began his career as a concrete contractor in 1980 and established K-Bro, Inc. in 1985.  He worked up to the last week of his life.

Clarence was a very active member of the Masonic and Shrine fraternities. He began his journey in 1980 at Mount Hope Lodge #476 and later held dual membership with Harry Truman Lodge #1941.  He was a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Kansas City.  Clarence was active at Ararat Shrine Temple where he was a member of the Motor Escort and various clubs, including Richmond, Sedalia and Liberty.  He served as Illustrious Potentate in 2015 and was a member of the Order of Quetzalcoatl and the Royal Order of Jesters.

Clarence was preceded in death by his father, Clarence C. Kirby, Sr; mother and step-father, Alice and Buddy Duke; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Walt Brown; brother, Danny Kirby; and grandson, Waylynn Kirby.  

Survivors include his partner for the past 15 years, Joanie Rucker; children, Joei North, Clarence "Tripp" Kirby (Cory), Dean Kirby and Allison Baldwin (Seth), and their mother Debra Kirby; grandchildren, Gavin, Isabel, Avery, Clarence IV, Heaven and Prezlee; sisters, Linda Price (Mike), Lois Cheatham and Clarinda Dir (Gary); sister-in-law, Gail Kirby; as well as nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Sunday, February 27, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Masonic Service and Rose Ceremony by the Royal Order of Jesters will be held at 10:00 am Monday, February 28, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel.  Burial will follow at Glenridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Ararat Shrine Hospital Transportation Fund, 5100 Ararat Drive, Kansas City, MO 64129.
