Clint Wigfall, Jr.

Clint Wigfall Jr. peacefully departed his life at 2:00 am to be reunited with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 21, 2023. Clint was born on November 22, 1946, in Lake Washington, Mississippi to his doting parents, the late Clint Wigfall Sr. and Ilene (Jamison) Wigfall. He was the sixth of nine children.

Clint received his formal education in the Mississippi Public School system. He graduated in 1967 from Coleman High School where he played football and basketball.

Early in his life, Clint married Geraldine (Bingham) Wigfall and together they embarked on a journey that spanned 60 years.  Clint and Geraldine were blessed with six children: Loriann (Wigfall) Gaunt, Jacqueline (Wigfall) Ford, Clint Wigfall III, Charlette (Wigfall) McKinney, Brenda (Wigfall) Jymison, Geria (Wigfall) Tyson. The Wigfall Family relocated from Greenville, Mississippi to Kansas City, Missouri in 1968.

Clint began his work life in 1962 when he was hired by the City of Greenville, as a sanitation engineer, to work in his father’s stead, when his father Clint Wigfall Sr. became ill.  In 1968, Clint and his young family moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he immediately gained employment at Walker’s Donut Shop. With his hard work ethic and great skill set he became a manager after 6 months. He worked for Walker’s Donut shop for 4 years.  In April of 1971, he started a new work journey working for Cook’s Paint and Varnish Company for 19 years as a paint mixologist at the manufacturing plant in North Kansas City, Missouri.  After 19 years with Cook’s Paint, Clint started his own company with his wife, “Clint & Jerri Construction and Remodeling,” which they managed until he retired.

Clint accepted Christ as his personal savior in June of 1975. Clint along with his son Clint Wigfall III and daughter Charlette were baptized by the late Rev. David L. Gray at Pleasant Green Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas. He was appointed to lead the Bus Ministry which transported over 500 members to church every Sunday.  He also served the church with his carpentry skills to build the “Miracle Building.”  Clint became a member of United Believers Community Church in April of 2018.

Clint took great care of his family, by making sure they had everything that was needed and most of the things that they wanted.  Clint was known as the best cook and shared his love of cooking with his children.  He taught his children how to cook, ride a bike, drive and take care of their cars. He taught them how to have fun, how to play sports, he helped them with their homework and often dropped in for school visits outside of teacher/parent conference days. He taught them humility, how to laugh at themselves, how to take care of themselves, how to be independent and the value of a hard day’s work. He made all 6 of his children feel like they were his favorite.  Most importantly he taught his children that he had unconditional love for them and what a family man looks like.

Clint Wigfall Jr. is preceded in death by his parents Clint Wigfall Sr. and Ilene (Jamison) Wigfall, along with his brother Thomas White Sr. and sisters Thelma Jackson, Mary Etta Coats, and Brenda Reed.

His memory is cherished and carried on by: his wife Geraldine “Jerri” Wigfall of Raytown, MO; his children Loriann Gaunt (Joseph) of Litchfield Park, AZ; Jacqueline Ford (James) of Country Club Hills, IL; Clint Wigfall, III (Dena) of Shawnee Mission, KS; Charlette McKinney of Raytown, MO; Brenda Jymison (O’Jay) of Raytown, MO; Geria Cherea Tyson (Hal) of Liberty, MO; three brothers, Frank White, Sr. (Niniece) of Matteson, IL; Alton Wigfall (Tonya) of Kansas City, MO; Willie Wigfall (Voncella) of Kansas City, MO; one sister Barbara Scott of Park Forest, IL; his lifelong friend Norzel Ross Sr. of Raytown, MO; seventeen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
