Buddy W. Collins, age   79, passed away November 22, 2020.

Visitation will be held 10:00am, Saturday Nov. 28, 2020, at First Baptist Church of Lees Summitt, 2 NE Douglas Street, Lees Summit, MO 64063, with an 11am memorial service to follow.

Buddy was born January 1, 1941, in Warrensburg, MO. He received his master’s degree in Industrial Technology and was an educator for 13 years at Center School District and 20 years at Raymore Peculiar School District. Additionally, Buddy was also in the Army National Guard. Upon his retirement he continued working at Billy Goat Industries as an engineer’s assistant. He later worked as a school bus driver. In the evenings he tinkered at home in his shop making items for craft shows and was a fantastic wood worker. He could create anything from figurine critters to heirloom furniture.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents; James E. “Buster “ and Zelma Collins; and his brothers Dave, Jim and Larry.

Buddy is survived by his spouse of 41 years Shirley Collins, and numerous extended loving family and friends. He dearly loved his dogs, and had a special bond with his Pomeranian, Cocoa.

He will be loved and missed by many.

So sad to hear of the passing of Bud. He was such a talented man with making wood crafts. He was such a caring person. I miss his smile, he will be greatly missed. I love you Shirley!
