Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend Patricia “Pat” C. Conway left this life for the next on December 18, 2019 at Overland Park Regional Hospital surrounded by love and her children. Pat was 85 years old.
Pat was born October 13, 1934 in Creighton, MO. She was one of 11 children born to Clifford “Poppy” Earl Wells and Amanda P. (Gregg) Wells. She graduated school from Raytown High School and worked as a window dresser at Macy’s, an usher at Starlight Theater, a waitress at King’s Restaurant and as a para-professional at Raytown Pre-School working with special needs children, before and during the time she settled down to be a wife and mother.
Pat always like convertibles and that is how her husband of almost 60 years caught her eye; in a yellow and white Mercury convertible while cruising the skating rink parking lot. Pat and Orval were married on May 26, 1953. Orval was in the Army so they moved to Alaska when he was stationed there. Alaska was still a territory at that time. They moved back to Kansas City area and lived in Raytown, MO for most of their married life.
Pat and Orval had five children: Neil (Lisa), Ronnie, Tina, Tim (Brenda) and Sondra (Kenny). These children gave them ten grandchildren: Samantha, Logan (Kristin), Shawn, Kellee, Heather, Daniel (Jay), Sarah, JT (Heather), Peyton and Parker. At the time of Pat’s death, she had also been blessed with three great-grandchildren: Abbie, Paisley and Aria.
Pat was the perfect mix of sweet and sassy up to and including the day of her death. She had a huge heart and thoughtful ways. In her younger days she loved traveling, being at the lake and sewing. She was also a painter creating mostly landscapes on her canvases.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Orval, sons Neil and Ronnie, her parents, brothers Wayne, Ralph, Harold, Robert, and Gerald and sisters Louise, Nina and Betty (infancy). She is survived by her children Tina, Tim and Sondra, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, sisters Francis and Saleeta, brother-in-law Eddie, sisters-in-law Juanita, Peggy and Anna Mae as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
