On June 9, 1951 Lois was joined in marriage to Charles "Bud" Cornelius. In 1955 after Bud's enlistment was over, they moved back to a farm in Smithville, MO where they began to raise a family. She was a loving mother of four children, a life long member of the Methodist Church and involved with mission work of the church. She enjoyed traveling with a local group on trips in the United States. Pastimes included walking, reading, gardening and working with her flowers. She followed her grandchildren’s sports activities and loved her Royals. She worked at Sears and later in banking in which she retired in 1995 from Bank of America.

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren put a smile on her face with each visit. She never met a stranger and you always knew exactly what she thought!
