Ercel Monroe Corwin

Ercel Monroe Corwin, 87, of the Kansas City Northland, passed away December 5, 2018, at North Kansas City Hospital with family at his side. Visitation begins at 1:30 pm, followed by a service celebrating Ercel's life at 2:30 pm, on Saturday, December 8, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty. Burial will follow in Glenridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Parkinson's Research-The Michael J. Fox Foundation (michaeljfox.org).

Ercel was born November 10, 1931, in Rutledge, Scotland County, MO, the second of four children of Fred and Rosella (Davis) Corwin. He was united in marriage to Rosalie Butcher on November 21, 1952. Along with his parents, Ercel was preceded in death by siblings, Laverne Bradley and Nolan Corwin; and daughter, Shelia Eikenbary.

Ercel's career with Proctor and Gamble spanned 32 years. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Rosalie; children, David Corwin (Theresa) and Sheryl Lowry (Gilbert); grandchildren, Lindsey Harris (Chris), Heather Corwin, Lacey Kurzejeski, Melissa Wimpy (Michael), Jordan Lowry and Vincent Lowry; great grandchildren, Madison Eikenbary-Theno and Zao Wimpy; sister, Lois Brandt; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Service Information:

Visitation begins at 1:30 pm, followed by a service celebrating Ercel’s life at 2:30 pm, on Saturday, December 8, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty. Burial will follow in Glenridge Cemetery.
