Richard E. Covey

Richard Eugene Covey, 78, of Kingston, MO, passed away September 17, 2022, at North Kansas City Hospital with loved ones at his side.

Rick was born January 27, 1944, in Orrick, MO, one of 12 children of David and Margaret (Ashby) Covey. His parents and an infant sister, Alice Marie, preceded him in death. Rick graduated from Richmond High School. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam era, receiving honorable discharge in 1965. He later served in the Army National Guard until 1970. Rick was united in marriage to Elizabeth Fay Sedgwick in March of 1971. He worked 35 years for Midwest Hanger in Kansas City, retiring as Operations Manager. He also farmed most of his life.

Rick leaves his wife of 51 years, Elizabeth Fay; children, Bob Covey (Lee Ann), Ron Covey (Mindee), Richard Covey and Kelle Covey; 17 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He also leaves ten siblings, Steve, Rob, James, David, Tom, Gary and Jack Covey, Bev Downer, Audrey McSwain, Debbie St. John; as well as countless nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

A celebration of Rick's life will be planned on his farm at Kingston.
