Patricia “Pat” Cox

October 12, 1927 — March 4, 2021

Patricia (“Pat”) Lou Gabriel Cox passed away March 4, 2021, after 93 good years of living this life. She is survived by her children; Pamela, Steven, Christopher, Martin, Jennifer, along with 8 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

Born in Independence, MO, she loved and excelled in school; especially speech, debate, and drama, winning several state championships. She attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, majoring in theater. In 1947, she met D. D. Cox and they were married for 71 years until his passing in 2019.

Pat’s love for school and children led her to teaching those with special needs for many years and became deeply involved in helping them outside of the classroom. She enjoyed selling real estate and eventually became a successful Mortgage Banker until she retired. She loved all animals and supported many animal care programs, was an avid reader and logic puzzle player, and enjoyed traveling with her husband and family, along with their dogs. She was always kind, always patient, and will be greatly missed by her family.
