Ricki Diane (Thompson) Cox, 54, of Pleasant Valley, MO, passed away surrounded by family and loved ones on June 5, 2021, at Excelsior Springs Nursing and Rehab. She was taken too soon, following a year-long battle with Multiple Systems Atrophy.

Ricki was born September 25, 1966, in North Kansas City, MO, the youngest of five daughters of James Wayman and Cleo Ora (Anderson) Thompson. Along with her parents, Ricki was preceded in death by the love of her life and fiance, Ray Writesman.

Ricki graduated from Winnetonka High School Class of 1984. She worked at various locations, most recently for Abbott of Kansas City until her health no longer permitted.

Ricki leaves behind her daughter, Danielle Cox, and was "Gigi" to her granddaughter McKenna Cleora Campbell. She also leaves sisters, Patty Bates, Debbie Wilkinson, Belinda Francis (Denny) and Terry Willard (Kent). She leaves a friend like a sister, Rosie Hearn, as well as numerous nieces, nephews other family members and friends. Your wings were ready but our hearts were not.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a service celebrating Ricki's life at 11:00 am, on Saturday, June 19, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Burial will follow at Glenridge Cemetery. Memorials to assist with expenses in care of Danielle Cox would be very much appreciated.
