Cynthia Burnett

Cynthia R. (Woods) Burnett, 79 of Liberty passed away Friday, January 31, 2025. She was born on September 8, 1945. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years Lewis R. Burnett,  parents Helen (Shelton) and Howard “Gene” Woods and brother-in-law Scott Farmer. 

Cynthia is survived by her two daughters Shelia Burnett of Kansas City and Laura Burnett of Kansas City; beloved grandson Joshua L. Burnett; granddaughter-in-law Chastitey (Richards) Burnett of Kansas City; three very precious great-grandsons Braiden, Landon and Emerson; her cherished sisters Leslyn (Woods) Farmer and Becky (Woods) Warren; brother-in-law Tony Warren; sister-in-law Shirley Ross; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Cindy enjoyed being with family and friends and playing with the children. She was a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church. 

Services will be held on February 8, 2025, at Liberty United Methodist Church, 1001 Sunset Ave, Liberty, MO 64068. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM. After the service, her ashes will be taken in procession to South Point Cemetery, Burns Road, Orrick, MO 64077. 

 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, Alzheimer's Foundation or a charity of choice.
