William Alva Daily

April 16, 1950 — July 30, 2019

William A. "Bill" Daily, 69, was born on April 16, 1950 and left us on July 30, 2019. Bill is survived by his wife Linda in Independence, MO; son James and wife Stacy Daily of Garden City, KS; daughter Andrea and husband Brian Nelson of Lenexa, KS; step-daughter Angela Stuart of Wichita, KS; and the apples of his eyes, grandkids: Kelsey, Nathan, Jacob, Jordyn, and soon to be Emmalyn Grace. He is also survived by a sister, Maxine and Don Hickert of Kansas City, MO; brothers: Jim and Dorothy Daily of Summerville SC; Gary and Fran Daily of Nixa, MO; and Terry and Pam Grindle of Colby, KS; brother-in-law Darrel Williams of Hill City, KS; and sisters-in-law Cynthia, Mary-Reed, and Christy Spencer. “Uncle” Bill also had a large family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and adopted family who he loved dearly. Bill was preceded in death by his mother Irene, father Max, sister Jeanette, and in-laws Don and Dorothy and JD Spencer.

Bill did not know a stranger and would go out of his way to help anyone in need. You could not go anywhere with him without someone hollering, “Hey Daily”! Bill attended Garden City Community College and Central Missouri State College on basketball scholarships. He was an avid KC Royals and Chiefs fan, plus a huge Kansas State University booster. After retiring from the oil fields in 2012 he gained fame far and near as a professional photo bomber! Bill would have said his greatest accomplishment was his family and friends. Bill will always be remembered for the way he connected with so many people, always answering the phone with a friendly, “speak to me”! He was and will always be, one “helluva guy”.
