Daniel J. Durocher left his earthly home on his 98th birthday September 19, 2024, to be reunited with his beloved wife, Iva Lea to spend eternity together with their Savior Jesus Christ.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am Monday, September 23, 2024, at St. James Catholic Church (309 South Stewart Road, Liberty, MO 64068) visitation will be 9:30-11:00am prior to the Mass. Interment with Military Honors will be in Glenridge Cemetery, Liberty, MO.
Danny was born September 19, 1926, in Woonsocket, RI to Oscar Deus and Mary (Casavant) Durocher. He served in the US Army during World War II and enlisted in the US Air Force to serve his country during the Korean Conflict. After Danny was discharged, he moved to Kansas City, MO where he met the love of his life, Iva Lea “Gussie” McCullough at a church function playing ping pong. Danny and Iva Lea were married June 25, 1955.
Danny worked as an electronic technician for Wilcox Electronic MFG Company from 1955 until 1995. He was a talented craftsman and enjoyed wood carving. He also enjoyed playing the harmonica. He found great pleasure during his years as a leader in Boy Scouts. Danny and Iva Lea loved going camping and playing various card games with a host of friends and family.
Danny and Iva Lea began their family life together in their first home on 38th Street in Kansas City, MO. Later they moved into a custom-built home designed by Danny in the Village of Glenaire in Clay County, MO, and then in the twilight of their years moved to Kearney, MO.
He was preceded in death by wife Iva Lea Durocher, Brother Armand Joseph Durocher, grandson Jason Fehrs, and great grandson Benjamin Downes.
He is survived by his children Beth Ann Fehrs (William), Mary Lea Durocher, Robert Daniel Durocher (Rita), Abott Durocher, Paul Allen Durocher (Theresa). 11 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great Great Grandchildren.
