Daniel P. Jesse passed away on April 8, 2025, in Liberty, Missouri. He was born on February 20, 1965, in Mexico, Missouri, and was one of five siblings who grew up learning the value of hard work and simple living. He graduated from Excelsior Springs High School and spent most of his working years as a painter, tackling everything from houses to businesses.
Daniel was a devoted son, he loved his Mama fiercely and never strayed far from home. Known for his quiet spirit, he could be described as a loner, keeping to himself for the most part, but when it came to family (especially his great-nieces) he showed up in meaningful ways. He was a man of faith and his daily prayers were never just for himself, they were for the people he loved, whether they knew it or not.
He loved fishing and especially enjoyed the early morning water. He often woke up at 3 a.m. to cast his line before the sun rose, hitting the good spots in the lakes and rivers of northwest Missouri. Bass and catfish were his favorites (to catch and fry!).
He is survived by his beloved mother Ruby Dillon, brothers Sam (DeeDee) Jesse and Jerry Jesse, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who cherished him deeply. He was preceded in death by his father Louis Jesse, step father William Dillon, little sister Brenda Lea Jesse and brother Terry Wayne Jesse.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date when his ashes are placed at Salem Christian Union Church. Please check back here for updates as plans come together.
